The council meeting focused on the proposed establishment of a new campus for Florence-Darlington Technical College within the city's downtown education corridor. Presenters argued that a new facility would enhance workforce development, improve accessibility for students—particularly those pursuing nursing degrees—and provide a significant economic asset to the community by strengthening the existing partnership between local educational institutions and industry leaders like Sonoko. Council members discussed the site selection, the importance of maintaining the vision for the education corridor, and addressed questions regarding accessibility and programming.
