The commission discussed non-programming items including the maintenance of a technology glossary, preparation for school science fair judging, volunteer coordination for the Fourth of July parade, and research into regulations for delivery robots. The meeting also included a detailed review of various programming initiatives, such as the commission's website content, programs regarding home medical technology, aggressive sales tactics, new car technology, crypto scams, General AI, cybersecurity, social media literacy, sustainable technology, and home networking. Outreach strategies for community events and partnerships were also planned.

The meeting included discussions on new appointments to various boards and commissions, public comments regarding a proposed ordinance for police interactions with federal agents, and a presentation on the upcoming City Nature Challenge. Concerns were raised regarding affordable housing in recent development projects and the need for amendments to the inclusionary zoning ordinance. Additionally, residents voiced frustrations regarding the tone of public comments during meetings and expressed support for elected female officials.

The Commission discussed Village and Police Department statements regarding recent antisemitic incidents and heard public concerns regarding proactive communication. Subcommittee reports covered progress on fair housing ordinance updates, the upcoming Block Party Forum, a recap of the Cold War and Civil Rights Walking Tour, and preparations for the Skokie Festival of Cultures. The Commission evaluated and selected the Illinois Holocaust Museum and Education Center to provide antisemitism training. Additionally, future hate and bias prevention programming and potential community initiatives were reviewed. The Commission also voted to reschedule the upcoming May meeting due to the Eid al-Adha holiday.

The board discussed the regulation of micromobility devices such as e-bikes and scooters, noting that localized action is pending state-level legislation. Updates were provided regarding leadership at the CDC and immunization efforts, including state-level coalitions and endorsements of childhood vaccination schedules. A presentation covered various community vaccination and access programs available through local health services, with suggestions to enhance public health literacy through educational classes. Additional updates included RSV guidelines and upcoming community health events. The board also recognized a student for health research excellence and reviewed presentations from a recent local health symposium.

The board received training updates regarding the Open Meetings Act and procedural requirements for public meetings. The Health and Human Services director provided departmental updates on vaccine programs, STI clinics, public health education, and communicable disease surveillance, as well as plans for an upcoming community health fair. Additionally, the board discussed the recipient of the Award of Health Research Excellence and welcomed a new board member.
