The committee held presentations regarding the American Sign Language program, highlighting enrollment data and staffing needs, and the CalWORKS program, focusing on its workforce training goals and student support services. The discussion also covered improvements to the program review process, such as the development of informational guides for presenters, refinements to the eLumen data entry system, clarification on the Resource Allocation Proposal (RAP) scoring and funding procedures, and the creation of review templates for non-teaching departments.

The Board of Directors meeting addressed several organizational and operational topics. Key discussions included insurance coverage for Ambassadors, updates from the Superintendent regarding COVID-19 budget impacts and institutional facilities projects, and new community fundraising initiatives. The Board reviewed financial and investment reports, approved the formation of three ad-hoc committees for the 2020-21 term, and received status updates on mini-grant programs.

The committee reviewed the status of accreditation drafts and discussed the Academic Senate Constitution. Approvals were granted for changes to the Regular Substantive Interaction (RSI) policy, revisions to Administrative Procedure (AP) 4105, and the updated Mission Statement. Discussions were held on Canvas course consistency, assessment procedures, door access for associate faculty, and the appointment of the Flex Coordinator to the Professional Development Committee. The committee also discussed EEO hiring panel diversity training requirements, drafted Board Policy (BP) 2510, and supported the creation of an evaluation revision workgroup.

The committee reviewed and approved various consent agenda items, including new course proposals, course revisions, and prerequisite changes. Key discussions involved credit versus non-credit status for business courses, the approval of new program certificates, and updates to employment concentration certificates. Additionally, the committee reviewed honors addendum proposals, distance education addendums, and discussed high school articulation agreements, committee membership, and updates regarding the CourseLeaf system.

The committee conducted a review of the Student Success Committee charge and the charges for its four implementation teams: Partnership for Academic Achievement; Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, Accessibility, and Anti-Racist (IDEAA); Student Success and Support Services; and Caring Campus. Recommendations for charge updates were requested for future meetings. English and Math updates were noted as having no new information to report.
