Financial Advisory Committee Meeting Minutes
The meeting focused on updates regarding the Strategic Capital Master Plan and Facility Disposition. The capital planning process involved facility condition assessments, revealing that 76% of schools were rated as fair, 31% poor, and 15% good, with HVAC and water intrusion noted as key improvement areas. Community feedback incorporated into the plan highlighted HVAC improvements. The committee also discussed how the capital master plan informs the budget reduction blueprint, aiming for a $45M reduction against a $60M deficit for FY 26-27, impacting approximately 139 FTEs. The revised FY 25-26 budget reflects greater-than-anticipated enrollment declines and rising costs, leading to an increased use of fund balance. An update from the Audit Committee confirmed no significant findings in the ACFR. The next meeting is scheduled virtually to review Q2 Financial Report data.
