The Common Council convened to address various matters, including the election of a President Pro Tempore, announcement of caucus leadership, and appointment of a Clerk of Committees. Resolutions were passed concerning tax abatements, land surveying services for the West Main Street Corridor, the Stanley Loop Trail Connection Project, and professional development training contracts for firefighters. Additionally, zoning amendments, Indigenous People's Day, Italian American Heritage Month, Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Polish-American Heritage Month, Domestic Violence Awareness Month, Willow Street Park improvement design services, an agreement with Local 1186, and the purchase of a John Deere Loader were discussed and resolved.

The council also discussed health department reports on overgrown brush, parking violations, and potential locations for Central Auto Sales. Additionally, resolutions were passed concerning funding for the police department, drainage design, bioterrorism planning, public health purposes, immunization programs, and playground renovations. October was designated as Italian Heritage Month and Columbus Day.
