City of Astoria Regular Meeting
The City Council meeting addressed several key legislative and administrative matters. Major agenda items included the proclamation of Domestic Violence Awareness Month and the approval of an appeal to allow live/work units at Cannery Lofts. The council adopted an ordinance permitting columbariums at places of worship, heard an appeal regarding a tree cutting permit, and authorized a contract for the development of an industrial pretreatment program. Additional actions included authorizing a Community Development Block Grant for COVID-19 PPE and testing assistance, approving the installation of a downtown parklet, and authorizing a funding application for the Irving Avenue at 33rd Street bridge replacement project. Finally, the council approved a license to occupy a portion of the Mill Pond Village tract.
