Giles County Board of Supervisors Regular Meeting
The board received reports from VDOT regarding ongoing road maintenance, sinkhole repairs, and signage needs across the county, as well as an update from the school division on summer facility preparations and enrollment projections. A resolution was adopted to place a 1% sales tax referendum for school construction and renovation projects on the upcoming general election ballot. Additional actions included authorizing a reimbursement for the Narrows Fire Department for an ambulance purchase, approving various financial warrants and school board appropriations, and making appointments to the New River Valley Passenger Rail Station Authority and the New River Valley Community Service Board. The board also convened in an executive session to discuss personnel and contract matters.
