The City Council meeting featured the official swearing-in ceremony for the newly elected mayor and council members representing various wards. Following the ceremony, the council received a presentation regarding recent improvements to the local parks sports complex. The discussion highlighted the successful completion of the facility upgrades, including the addition of new turf baseball fields, scoreboards, lighting, and amenities. These enhancements aim to increase tourism and support the local economy by attracting regional sports tournaments, which generate revenue for city businesses.

The presentation detailed that out of 45 referrals since November, 33 individuals were successfully returned to support systems. Discussion also touched upon the need for increased officer awareness, securing stabilized funding, and potentially establishing a dedicated staff position as the program expands, acknowledging the city's role as a regional hub for medical and social services.
