The Blackstone Valley Prep (BVP) academic program is founded on the belief that all students are brilliant and capable of rigorous learning, providing comprehensive instruction across mathematics, reading, writing, science, and arts. It aims to develop essential academic, social, and personal skills, and cultivate critical thinking to address injustices. The program incorporates college-preparatory coursework, PRIDE values, a rigorous standards-based curriculum inclusive of arts and physical education, frequent assessments, and research-based instructional practices supported by professional development.

Blackstone Valley Prep's (BVP) 2023-2027 strategic plan addresses the need to improve student outcomes, particularly in ELA and math, and to enhance support for multilingual learners. The plan focuses on improving reading instruction at the elementary level, recruiting and retaining diverse and effective educators, and strengthening school climate and culture to foster strong learning outcomes. Specific goals include increasing proficiency indices in ELA and math on the state accountability system and improving the performance of multilingual learners on the ACCESS assessment. Strategies involve implementing high-quality curricula, providing teacher training, and creating a supportive school environment. The plan also aims to improve the performance of multilingual learners on the ACCESS assessment by increasing the number of ESL-certified teachers and maximizing their capacity to support students.
