The board considered and approved a resolution authorizing the transfer of up to $5,000,000 from the Capital Projects Fund to the General Fund. This decision was driven by shifting district priorities from capital improvements to operational needs and the management of forecasted deficit spending. The resolution also authorizes the necessary petitions to the Ohio Tax Commissioner to execute this fund transfer.
This District Action Plan outlines a vision to employ a district-wide whole child approach to education, ensuring students are healthy, safe, engaged, supported, and challenged. The strategic planning goals focus on implementing the action plan through quarterly committee meetings, expanding physical health services to include dental, nicotine cessation, vision, transportation, and telehealth, and refining the partnership with Dayton Children's Hospital. Additionally, it aims to expand behavioral health prevention and intervention services, including multi-tiered systems of support and on-site therapy, while enhancing partnerships with local behavioral health providers. The primary strategic priorities are Physical Health Services and Behavioral Health Services.
The board reviewed and discussed guidelines regarding public participation at meetings, establishing rules for orderly conduct and comment duration. Additionally, a resolution was passed to authorize the administration of Grade 3 Ohio State Tests in English Language Arts and Mathematics using a paper-and-pencil format for the upcoming school year to support developmentally appropriate assessment practices.
