The plan aims to create an inclusive and barrier-free community where all residents can participate fully and independently, moving beyond legislative compliance towards universal design.

The committee discussed updates on the Downtown Revitalization project, wayfinding signage, and potential integration with the Driftscape platform. Discussions were held regarding entertainment options for the Rock 'n Roll Classics Car Show, planning for the upcoming Ladies Night event, and new sponsorship arrangements for the Halloween and Holiday Market. Additionally, the committee reviewed the VIP Chair Patio Series, the 2026 work plan budget, and explored the use of the Town's Instagram profile for event promotion.

The Committee received a presentation on the labour market inclusion gap for individuals with disabilities and a proposed digital platform for workplace inclusion. The 2026 meeting schedule for the Committee was approved. An overview was provided for a site plan application at 6162 Main Street, during which members discussed accessibility, parking layout, and operational concerns. Additionally, the committee received a verbal update regarding the development process for the 2026-2030 Multi-Year Accessibility Plan.

The council meeting covered several key agenda items, including the receipt of deputations regarding a short-term rental by-law, which led to a directive for staff to investigate additional enforcement measures and a potential municipal accommodation tax. The council received annual drinking water system reports and endorsed the town's operational plan for quality management. A new cemetery by-law was introduced and passed, following discussions on pet regulations in municipal cemeteries. Additionally, the council approved a work plan for the Village of Stouffville Advisory Committee, authorized traffic calming measures, established a winter maintenance stabilization reserve, and ratified a collective agreement with Teamsters Local 419. Discussions also included the appointment of the Town Clerk and the acquisition of parkland.

The committee reviewed several applications for minor variances and consent. This included the refusal of a minor variance application for a residential addition constructed without a permit at 1980 St John's Sideroad due to zoning non-compliance and hardship considerations. Additionally, the committee approved consent applications for property parcels at 20 Warriner Street and granted approval for minor variance applications at 12441 Woodbine Avenue and 30 Maple Bush Trail, the latter involving considerations regarding garage size and tree impacts.
