Statewide Marac Meeting Presentation
The meeting focused on the Fire Management Assistance Grant (FMAG) program, a FEMA initiative administered by the state. Presenters discussed the program's eligibility requirements for cities, counties, and states, emphasizing that the application must be submitted while a fire is burning uncontrolled. Key discussion topics included the cost-share breakdown, annual state cost thresholds based on population, and the four main criteria for FEMA approval: threat to lives and property, resource availability, extreme fire conditions, and potential major economic impact. The presentation also detailed the application process, including required documentation, the use of initial and customized mapping for fire analysis, and the critical importance of timing the submission to ensure the request is not prematurely denied.
