Board of Zoning and Building Appeals Hearing
The board conducted a hearing regarding an appeal of a planning commission denial of a variance application for a property located at 360 Carpenter Road. The discussion focused on a proposal to split the current property to allow for the construction of an additional single-family home. Key points of contention included concerns over zero road frontage, the definition of hardship, potential drainage and runoff issues affecting neighboring properties, and the adequacy of proposed improvements to the shared driveway access. The applicant presented arguments for the variance, while the city attorney detailed reasons for the planning commission's original denial and the criteria required for granting such a variance.
