The initiative focuses on enhancing electric vehicle adoption by providing accessible charging facilities and incentives for purchasing EVs and installing charging infrastructure at homes and businesses. This Power Delivery Master Plan serves as a 20-year roadmap to ensure reliable and economical power flow for Pasadena. Key objectives include enhancing system reliability by reducing outage frequency and duration, improving system resiliency for quick recovery, and maintaining high power quality by adhering to industry standards. The plan addresses the modernization of the grid to integrate new technologies such as solar, electric vehicles, and battery systems, and proposes initiatives like replacing aging substation equipment, upgrading subtransmission systems, converting 4KV circuits to 17KV, and implementing Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI).
