This document details the development and evolution of Minnesota's Family and Community Engagement (FACE) Model. Driven by the 2015 Every Student Succeeds Act and the 2021 Due North Education Plan, the model was established in 2021 using a Human Centered Design process to strengthen school capacities in engaging all families and closing opportunity gaps. The seven-element FACE Model, initially adopted into Minnesota's Multi-Tiered Systems of Support framework, was updated in 2025 to include enhanced examples and indicators for intentional community engagement practices.
