The committee reviewed key legal requirements and training protocols, including the development of a district master plan for English learners and a district-wide needs assessment. There was an overview provided regarding the DELAC and ELAC bylaws, officer roles, and responsibilities. The committee discussed district reclassification criteria for English learners, noting the inclusion of ELPAC results, teacher input, parent consultation, and Lexile scores. Additionally, members were encouraged to participate in the FACE survey to enhance parent engagement, and information was shared regarding the upcoming Latino College Expo. School representatives also presented site accomplishments and upcoming events.

The Board of Trustees meeting covered a wide range of administrative, instructional, student, personnel, and business services topics. Key activities included the recognition of outstanding students and sports teams, the adoption of several resolutions designating special awareness weeks, and the approval of the 2026-2027 Board Meeting Calendar. Instructional services approved a Williams Settlement Uniform Complaint Report, AVID curriculum agreements, and various student travel requests. Personnel services addressed contract proposals, processed management and certificated retirements and appointments, and approved numerous certificated and classified employment actions and coaching assignments. Business services approved various financial reports, interdistrict attendance agreements, and multiple construction-related contracts and change orders for building modernization. Furthermore, the Board authorized the purchase of technology services and Chromebooks, declared surplus school buses, and accepted a donation. A closed session was held to address student discipline and personnel matters.

The committee discussed the School Site English Learner Needs Assessment, which evaluates support programs and informs funding allocations in the Local Control and Accountability Plan. Presentations covered fall ELAC training topics, mandatory annual notifications for parents and guardians, the upcoming Seal of Biliteracy ceremony, and the components of the English Learner Master Plan. Participants also received information regarding the selection process for the upcoming California Association for Bilingual Education conference. School representatives provided updates on site accomplishments, and clarification was provided regarding the collaborative placement process for English Learner students.

The committee meeting covered several educational topics, including planning and procedures for the ELPAC examination and resources to support students. Significant emphasis was placed on the importance of student attendance and school policies regarding absences. Furthermore, the district provided updates on the Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) development, information regarding dual enrollment opportunities between high schools and community colleges, and an overview of Career Technical Education (CTE) courses provided through Baldy View ROP. Participants were also informed about the upcoming 2026 CABE conference.
