The council conducted several public hearings concerning property rezoning, conditional use permits, and annexation requests, including multi-family unit proposals, a religious facility project, and a 167-unit subdivision. A public hearing was also held regarding the Fiscal Year 2027 millage rate. The council discussed the adoption of the millage rate, the potential extension of downtown entertainment district boundaries, an engineering agreement for the Hickory Flat Gateway Project, and the donation of right-of-way land to the Department of Transportation. Additional business included adopting model guidelines for public-private partnerships under the PPFIA and reviewing a request to waive construction fees for a church expansion project.
