The Vestavia Way strategic plan for Vestavia Hills City Schools aims to align long-term priorities with daily operations to ensure every student learns without limits. It is anchored by four core values: excellence, character, community, and safety, and outlines four key strategic goals: Student Experience, Employee Engagement, Family & Community Partnerships, and Stewardship & Support. These goals focus on fostering academic achievement and personal growth, cultivating a professional and collaborative employee culture, building strong community relationships, and ensuring responsible resource management and operational effectiveness.

The Board of Zoning Adjustment meeting agenda includes variance requests for fence location in the front setback (BZA-23-4), and front and rear setback variances for property located at 2404 Chestnut Road to build an addition (BZA-23-5).

The strategic plan of the City of Vestavia Hills focuses on improving city aesthetics for economic sustainability, enhancing city infrastructure, and improving community quality of life amenities. It also aims to provide efficient city services, prioritize community safety, act as good stewards of taxpayer resources, and deliver exceptional customer service through various initiatives and projects.

The Design Review Board reviewed several landscape and architectural requests. One request was for a landscape review at 4565 Pine Tree Cir for a new landscaping plan. Another request was for an architectural review at 1401 Montgomery Hwy, also for a new landscaping plan. A final review of materials was discussed for a property at 3224 Cahaba Heights Rd, concerning renovations to an existing building. The board suggested changes and requested material samples for the next meeting.

The Planning and Zoning Commission agenda includes several final plat approvals for property resurveys and lot line amendments. A rezoning request for a swim school is also on the agenda.
