The Board conducted a public hearing and adopted proposed amendments to the student code of conduct and various district policies, including whistleblower protection, anti-harassment, employment regulations, financial controls, investment, and instructional material allocation. Consent agenda items were approved, including instructional material purchases for English language arts and world languages. The Superintendent provided an update on the successful completion of the school year and graduation ceremonies. New principals were introduced for Southport Middle School and White City Elementary School. Board members recognized staff achievements, shared highlights from school visits, and discussed the district's commitment to student success.

The board conducted a public hearing and approved various policy amendments, including those related to personal transportation devices, unmanned aircraft systems, school safety, emergency management, and transportation. The meeting featured several special recognitions, such as the proclamation of National Speech, Language, and Hearing Month, recognition for Arts in Our Schools Month, an award for outstanding professional practices in learning, and the presentation of honors to high school essay contest winners and teams qualifying for the Odyssey of the Mind World Competition and state-level Key Club leadership recognitions.

The workshop included recognitions for educational contributions and awards for school leadership. Key business items involved the ratification of labor contracts for bargaining units, approval of various charter school audits for the previous fiscal year, and business associate agreements with insurance and service providers. Additionally, the Board reviewed facilities projects, including lease agreements and a five-year work plan, as well as capital budget presentations, safety updates, and legislative priorities for the Greater Florida Consortium of School Boards.

The agenda included a public hearing regarding the proposed adoption of the tentative budget and millage for 2004-05, as well as proposed amendments to attendance and student progression policies. Special orders of business covered a donation to Southern Oaks Middle School and the implementation of lightning prediction systems. Numerous consent agenda items were addressed, including personnel matters, various contracts for professional services, auditing services, equipment leases, school bus routes, and several construction-related change orders and work authorizations for school facilities. Additionally, the meeting included review of various student-related stipulated findings of fact and final orders, as well as reports from staff, the attorney, and board members.
