The Expanded Learning Opportunities Program Plan for Saugus Union School District focuses on supporting the social, emotional, and academic growth of students through enriching after-school and intersession programs. Key areas include creating safe and supportive environments, promoting active and engaged learning, building essential life skills, fostering youth voice and leadership, encouraging healthy choices and behaviors, ensuring diversity, access, and equity, and maintaining quality staff. The plan aims to extend learning experiences, provide consistency and support for students and families, and align with California Quality Standards for Expanded Learning.

The resolution discusses the intent to convey an easement to Southern California Edison (SCE) for the construction, maintenance, operation, and repair of electronic vehicle charging equipment on District property. The District plans to enter into a Charge Ready Transport Program Participation Agreement with SCE, and SCE has requested an easement to install necessary infrastructure. The resolution directs the Superintendent or designee to give notice of a public hearing regarding the conveyance of the Easement.

The 45-Day Budget Revision includes changes to the budget based on the Budget Act for 2025-26. These changes include additional revenue for the Student Support and Professional Development Discretionary Block Grant, the Learning Recovery Emergency Block Grant, and the Universal Transitional Kindergarten program to lower student-to-staff ratios. No additional revisions to the budget have been made, and expenditure budgets will follow once additional requirements are known.

The Saugus Union School District's plan focuses on several key goals: closing achievement gaps in core academic areas, supporting the academic and language needs of English Learners, increasing student engagement and wellness through responsive school environments, engaging families in the school community and decision-making, and promoting diversity and understanding within schools. The plan includes actions such as providing targeted professional development for teachers, implementing multi-tiered systems of support for students, and offering resources and training for families to support their children's learning and well-being.
