The Commissioners Court signed an order restricting outdoor burning in the unincorporated area of Fayette County for 90 days, effective September 11, 2025, due to hazardous conditions that could exacerbate wildfires. The ban does not apply to activities authorized by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality for firefighter training, public utility, natural gas pipeline, or mining operations, nor does it apply to prescribed burns conducted by certified managers or trained persons following approved burn plans. Violators of the order may face a fine.

The proposed budget includes information on property tax rates, tax levies, and distribution of taxes to various funds such as the General Fund, Road and Bridge Funds, and Debt Service Fund. It also outlines requests for program assistance and budget requests by officials and department heads, covering items such as IT infrastructure, copiers, voter registration, law library funding, building repairs, inmate supplies, and vehicles. The budget also details lease-purchase obligations and revenue projections for various funds.

The meeting included discussions regarding entering into a closed executive session to deliberate a matter related to medical records of an employee for a benefit from the Sick Leave Pool, with a decision deferred until 2017 pending possible changes to the Personnel Manual. Additionally, there was discussion and consideration of appointing members to the three-member Appeal Board required by the Fayette County Flood Damage Prevention Regulations, with this matter also being deferred until a special meeting on October 13, 2017.

The Commissioners Court of Fayette County adopted an order approving the reconfiguration of county election precincts. This decision was made in response to population imbalances revealed by the 2020 Census and the establishment of new boundaries for various districts by the Texas Legislature. The reconfiguration ensures compliance with the Texas Election Code, addressing requirements related to territorial units, population limits, and the inclusion of both incorporated and unincorporated areas. The order adopts a revised plan for election precincts, defining new boundaries and incorporating exhibits with population, demographic data, and registered voter numbers. The County Clerk is directed to provide all necessary notices regarding the adoption of the reconfigured election precincts.
