The SMIA representative thanked the board for their service during School Board Appreciation Month but strongly urged them to pull a proposed 400% compensation increase from the agenda due to inconsistencies with current employee sacrifices. The Foundation representative welcomed the new board liaison and detailed the kickoff of the 10th annual Readathon, with district goals of 2 million minutes read and $125,000 raised. The Superintendent report acknowledged the Readathon's success and praised the partnership with local libraries for the kickoff events. The meeting also included student participation leading the pledge and presentations on school highlights and facility improvements like restroom renovations.
