Unified Government of Athens-Clarke County Mayor and Commission Regular Monthly Session
The Commission addressed several items including the acceptance of federal grant funds for affordable housing, the Cook's Trail Restoration Project, and hazard mitigation. Amendments were made to the Code of Athens-Clarke County regarding the Internal Auditor, the Public Safety Civilian Oversight Board, and local noise control ordinances. Additionally, the Commission established controlled parking residential areas on LeConte Avenue, Pinecrest Drive, and University Drive. Other actions included approval for the design of the Middle Oconee Raw Water Intake Pump Station, the appointment of new members to various boards and authorities, and the authorization of changes to the North Downtown Athens Project. Several zoning and future land use map amendments were also considered, alongside various contract awards and budget revisions.
