The board conducted a budget hearing which included public commentary on several key initiatives. Discussion topics included a proposed loan and construction project for flood control, with requests for an independent third-party engineering review of the project design. Funding requests were made for the establishment and expansion of community food markets to address food insecurity, as well as for increased legal and emergency support services for the immigrant community. Additionally, representatives advocated for reliable funding for maternal mental health services and basic material needs for families through the Postpartum Support Center.
