The council discussed updates from the Mayor regarding the Federation of Canadian Municipalities conference, focusing on themes of infrastructure, housing, and AI. The council also discussed the Neighborhood Champion program and referred the Wild Safe BC report and proposed bylaw amendments to staff for further review.

The committee discussed a proposal for the Mini Peaks project, which aims to build mini soccer pitches through a partnership with the FIFA World Cup legacy project, including coach training and education benefits. Staff were directed to submit an expression of interest and return with more information for final consideration. Additionally, the committee received an update regarding safety improvements and a grant recently received for the multi-use path.

The committee discussed the Sport Court Mural Public Art project, focusing on evaluation priorities, project timelines, and contingencies. They recommended that all artist submissions from the previous call be reevaluated against refined criteria and that selected artists moving to the second stage of the project receive a honorarium for their work.

The committee reviewed reports concerning the WWTP utility sheds at First Street and Main Street. It was resolved to recommend to Council the selection of Ivy Cargill-Martin and Spencer Godin to provide artwork for these respective locations, with each artist receiving a $1,000 award for the use of their work.

The committee reviewed and recommended a series of grant recipients for both the 2025 Arts, Culture and Heritage grant program and the 2025 Event Support Grant program, allocating various funding amounts and in-kind contributions to local organizations. Additionally, staff provided an informative update regarding the legislative differences between open and closed meetings and the appropriate application of these functions under the Community Charter.
