The council approved the motion to abolish the office of Town Solicitor.

The Berwick Electric Commission (BEC) filed a general rate application (GRA) with the Nova Scotia Utility and Review Board on June 22, 2023, for approval of certain revisions to its Rates, Charges and Regulations. The Board issued its Decision on November 24, 2023. The Schedule of Rates for Electric Supply and Service is approved, effective November 24, 2023. The Schedule of Rules and Regulations Governing the Supply of Electric Services is approved, effective November 24, 2023. BEC must undertake a dam safety assessment and update its emergency preparedness plan before it files its next general rate application, or before December 31, 2024, whichever is earlier. BEC must file the dam safety report and an updated emergency preparedness plan with the Board upon completion.
