Develop a comprehensive and California-aligned Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP) to strengthen community resilience to wildfire, support hazard mitigation planning, guide fuel-reduction priorities, and improve coordination with regional, state, and federal partners. Recent fire events, including the Eaton Fire (2025), have highlighted the need for a modernized community wildfire strategy that addresses local fuel loads, evacuation constraints, WUI exposures, and climate-driven fire behavior. The project’s purpose is to reduce wildfire risk, improve operational readiness, enhance public safety, and ensure Sierra Madre is well positioned for state and federal funding opportunities related to wildfire mitigation.

Project consists of 1,440 LF 6" PVC C900 CL 235 water main replacement, 35 LF remove & replace (in-place) existing 12" water main with 12" PVC C900 CL 235 water main, 22 LF furnish & install 12" PVC C900 CL 235 water main, 2 EA furnish & install 12" butterfly valve, 5 EA construct 6" fire hydrant assembly (excluding valve), 39 EA construct 1" water service, 2 EA abandon existing water main, see outside link.
