The Board discussed and approved a City-initiated zone change request from Apartment District (A) to Single Family Residential District (R2) for properties located on Thompson Street and Myrtle Street, as well as lots 1-4 of the Wilbern Place Subdivision, to bring the area into compliance with the Kilgore Zoning Code.

The Kilgore Thoroughfare Plan aims to create a cohesive vision for the city's transportation network, address current issues like congestion, and guide future development. The plan is structured around key strategic pillars: expanding mobility and access, focusing on maintenance and fiscal responsibility, improving economic vitality, and enhancing quality of life. It seeks to establish a balanced transportation system that ensures safe mobility for residents, considers current and future needs, improves connectivity, and promotes a livable community through proactive urban planning, with a planning horizon extending to 2045.

The Kilgore City Council will conduct public hearings for the proposed Fiscal Year 2026 Budget and the Tax Year 2025 Tax Rate. The proposed budget allocates funding for all City services, with a tax rate of .616000, which is more than the No New Revenue Tax rate. The budget will raise more revenue from property taxes than last year's budget, with increased revenues intended for additional street maintenance.
