This Energy Conservation and Demand Management Plan for the Township of Carlow/Mayo outlines strategies to optimize facility energy intensity and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The meeting covered the review and adoption of the agenda, declarations of pecuniary interests, and the adoption of minutes from previous meetings. Staff reports were reviewed and approved, including the expense report and community center recreation committee vouchers. The council discussed and accepted committee reports and showed support for the Town of Midland resolution urging the payment of federal funds to municipalities to waive property taxes due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. An in-camera session followed to discuss labour relations or employee negotiations related to COVID-19.

The North Hastings Community Safety and Well-being Plan is a three-year commitment designed to address issues preventing residents from thriving and to improve overall community safety and well-being. It focuses on three priority areas: poverty, mental health and addictions, and housing. The plan aims to proactively reduce crisis situations, foster sustainable communities, and ensure all residents have a sense of belonging, opportunities, and access to essential needs.

The council held a public meeting to discuss a proposed by-law concerning land closure and sale to abutting landowners, specifically Lot 12, Concession 1. Additionally, a proposed Zoning By-Law Amendment was discussed to rezone retained lands to Rural Residential (RR) Zone and severed lands to a site-specific Rural Residential (RR-12) Zone, intended to recognize a meditation retreat facility and existing buildings.

The council discussed and adopted the agenda for the July 12, 2022, Regular Meeting. The council approved the June 30, 2022 expense report, Carlow Community Centre Recreation Committee Voucher 05-2022, and Mayo Community Centre Recreation Voucher # 04-2022 and 05-2022. The council received the monthly Building Department Report, the monthly Fire and Emergency Management Report, and the monthly Public Works report as information. The council accepted the invitation from Wollaston Township to have a meeting regarding a possible joint shared service agreement for Building Departments. The council agreed to receive and file correspondence and supported the County of Hastings resolution for Expanding Amber Alert System.
