Beausoleil Rural Community

The Beaubassin West Planning Area Rural Plan provides a framework for orderly development and growth over approximately 20 years, guided by sound land use planning principles. Key objectives include ensuring adequate planning mechanisms for a healthy and sustainable environment, controlling commercial and industrial development to minimize land use conflicts, reducing environmental impacts, adapting to climate change effects such as sea level rise, and optimizing growth by directing new development to community nodes. The plan outlines policies and proposals for residential, commercial, industrial, institutional, recreational facilities, natural resources, water supplies, heritage conservation, physical environment preservation, and renewable energy, supported by specific borough-level strategies.

This document outlines the first Cultural Policy for the Rural Community of Beausoleil, aiming to unite and inspire the community around arts, culture, and heritage. It is built upon four strategic pillars: commitment to youth, promotion and preservation of heritage, accessibility to arts and culture, and raising awareness of arts and culture. The policy seeks to foster a sense of pride and belonging, highlight the region's heritage, transmit cultural identity to future generations, and position arts and culture as a vital driver for community development.

This strategic plan for the Communauté rurale de Beausoleil serves as a roadmap to guide the municipality's future, aiming to create a better community for all residents, protect the environment, and foster resilience. It is built upon three foundational pillars: Active Life and Sustainable Development, ensuring a Safe and Resilient Community, and promoting Francophonie and Participatory Democracy. The plan envisions Beausoleil as a peaceful Acadian rural community where residents feel at home, decisions lead to a sustainable and environmentally respectful future, and resilience strengthens community unity and dynamism.

The council meeting included discussions and decisions on several key topics. These included the authorization of the deposit and first reading of Bylaw No. 2024-01 concerning council remuneration, the reimbursement of cell phone expenses for municipal officials, and participation in the Cultural Land Use Planning Training and Support Project. A resident inquired about visits to other fire stations before drafting preliminary plans for the new fire station and substation, specifically regarding the inclusion of a designated space for the Emergency Operations Center.

The extraordinary council meeting included discussion and adoption of the agenda. The council resolved to hire Mr. Jeannot Doiron as the General Director of the Rural Community of Beausoleil, including his salary, benefits, vacation, and probationary period.
