Board meetings and strategic plans from Akron-Canton Regional Airport Authority
The Akron-Canton Airport (CAK) Part 150 Update Advisory Committee held a public workshop to discuss the Part 150 Study, Airport Master Plan, and Airport Sustainability Plan Management. The workshop covered topics such as the Part 150 Overview and Status, 2014 and 2019 Noise Exposure Maps, Noise Abatement Alternatives, Noise Compatibility Program Recommendations, and opportunities for public consultation and comments. The study determined that there are no non-compatible land uses within CAK's 2014 and 2019 Noise Exposure Map contours, and focused on optimizing this situation by further reducing noise and preventing new non-compatible land uses. Recommendations included continuing existing noise abatement measures, adopting an Airport Overlay Zone (AOZ), and continuing existing program management measures.
The 2025-2027 Strategic Plan for Akron-Canton Airport (CAK) is designed to enhance the travel experience, elevate economic activity, and ensure the airport's long-term success. It is built upon guiding principles of care, collaboration, dedication, and growth. The plan outlines six primary goals: proactive maintenance and strategic improvements, retaining and attracting air service, strengthening the airport's financial health, ensuring a safe, sustainable, and secure environment, empowering the airport workforce, and investing in the guest experience. The overarching vision is to leverage the airport's assets to foster human and economic prosperity in the region, positioning CAK as a gateway to the world.
