The City Council meeting included an executive session to discuss real property, personnel matters, and security devices, followed by approval of a Covenant Lease and a full-time Court Clerk/Bookkeeper position. The City FY2022-2023 Financial Statement was presented and accepted. An Interlocal Agreement with South Plains Association of Governments for a Cybersecurity Grant Program was approved. Permission was granted for a water tap on the main line for residents Kelly and Shawn Vandygriff. Funding was approved for new Geographic Information System (GIS) Integration with Cloudpermit Software.

The City Council meeting included discussions and actions on several key items. The council addressed the sale and issuance of Combination Tax and Revenue Certificates of Obligation to fund water and sewer system improvements, as well as alcohol sales. They considered water issues, a curb cut exception request, and the relocation of a chain link fence on Field 2. The council also discussed GIS software, purchasing a new printer for City Hall, and an invoice for the installation of a new pump and motor. Additionally, they approved the 2023 Racial Profile Report and Oller Engineering invoices. The meeting concluded with reports from the Public Works Director, Police Chief, City Manager, council members, and the Mayor.

The meeting included an executive session for city manager interviews, after which Julie Arrington was hired as City Manager. The council also considered authorizing the Mayor to negotiate an employment agreement with the new City Manager.

A budget workshop was conducted for the FY 2024-2025 Draft Budget.
