Wetland Mitigation Strategy (Request for Proposals)

Description: The Port is seeking qualified wetland professionals for a multi-phase, multiyear project to create a comprehensive wetland mitigation strategy or "roadmap" supporting development in the coming decades. Early phases will identify Port mitigation needs, current mitigation efforts and identify appropriate alternatives and recommendations. Recommendations will be explored further by assessing the feasibility and costs of various approaches. Options may include the purchase of credits from existing banks, the acquisition of property or properties for mitigation, evaluation of Port properties for mitigation including preservation, enhancement and creation or a combination of, and development of a regional mitigation bank with partners. Subject to funding, subsequent phases may include design, permitting and construction oversight of a mitigation site. Phasing may be adjusted depending on opportunities that arise during the term of the project.
