Summary
To procure a scalable, International Maritime Organization (IMO) certified Shipborne Surveillance Radar (SSR) system to serve as the primary collision avoidance system, enhancing navigation and surveillance for cutters and shore units. The system must ensure interoperability between core hardware components used both afloat and ashore, and ancillary devices receiving input from various navigation sensors, facilitating seamless integration with existing navigation systems and shore-based Vessel Traffic Services (VTS). This modernization effort aims to replace outdated AN/SPS-50, AN/SPS-78, AN/SPS-79, AN/SPS-73, and Terma radars across 13 cutter platforms, over 100 VTS remote sites, two (2) ashore labs, one (1) Training Center, and Coastal Sentinel, improve sensor performance, and standardize system support.
