Tyngsborough Wellfield PFAS Treatment Facility

Construction of a new 2.65 MGD PFAS WTP housing PFAS filter vessels at the Tyngsborough Wellfield WTP site. The new PFAS WTP building will be approx. 4,100 SF constructed of masonry walls, wood roof trusses, an asphalt shingle roof, block veneer, and is inclusive of process, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, instrumentation, and SCADA; Modified and new site piping, site work for drainage, water, sewer, gas, electrical and all site/civil surface finishes; replacement of existing booster pumps, motors, VFDs, wiring, and associated piping work at

Brook acres wellfield PFAS treatment. The project includes constructing a 18' x 36' treatment facility to provide improved treatment for PFAS removal. The project will include constructing an above-ground facility inclusive of civil, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and site work.

The RFP requests proposals for PFAS treatment at the Brook Acres Wellfield in Brookfield, CT, with proposals submitted through Aquarion Water Company's E‑Bid/ProcureWare system. A mandatory pre‑bid site meeting, a clarifications deadline, and a bid closing date are specified; the procurement may be funded in part by the Connecticut DEEP and/or Department of Public Health but those agencies will not be parties to the contract. Bid, performance, and payment bonds are required and Aquarion reserves the right to waive informalities or reject bids.

Contract No. 1 - Wellhead 9 PFAS treatment facility The Project is comprised of two (2) primary components as follows: PFAS Facility: Work generally includes construction of a new 27-foot by 36-foot treatment facility housing two 12-ft diameter, 40,000-pound GAC vessels for the removal of PFAS. The proposed equipment would be fully housed within a new modular building. The building housing the GAC vessels will be located adjacent to the existing Well 9 building. The building will be wood framing studs with fiber cement lap siding provided by a pre-engineered manufacturer. Interior process piping shall consist of ductile iron and PVC and ranges in size from 2" to 12", including butterfly valves with both manual and electric actuators. Site Work: Work shall also include construction required outside of the physical building structure or facility including but not limited to raw water influent lines, finished water effluent piping, other site utilities, site grading, new sanitary manhole, site driveways, curb and gutter replacement, and paving, additional site electrical components, and landscape improvements associated with the project.
