The salt aire shoreline restoration project consists of construction of shoreline protection and hydraulic dredging and placement for marsh creation. The shoreline protection includes optional excavation of flotation access channels, and the construction of graded rock riprap breakwaters. The marsh creation includes the construction of earthen containment dikes between the breakwater gaps, hydraulic dredging of an offshore borrow area, placement of dredged fill within the marsh creation areas, and excavation of tidal creeks.
