Call 004 seeks interdisciplinary proposals for SETS Topic 1, Solar, Solar Wind, and Ionospheric Effects. The work aims to improve models that specify and predict ionospheric conditions affecting radio-frequency communications, positioning, navigation and timing (PNT), and radar, as well as develop supporting solar and space-environment models and instrumentation. The broader program seeks to understand and quantify space-environment effects on defense and national-security systems and enable those effects to be predicted, mitigated, or exploited.
