Summary
DARPA is soliciting engagement from industrial producers of raw materials (cast, rolled, forged metals, bulk ceramics, and composites) to inform a future program aimed at revolutionizing industrial-scale materials processing. The RFI seeks multi-year processing data and collaboration with teams of materials scientists, process engineers, and data scientists to develop physics-informed optimization tools that increase yield and product quality without requiring capital investment. Respondents must be large-scale producers able to protect proprietary data (e.g., via NDAs or secure enclaves) and the RFI emphasizes data security and cloud computing capabilities where applicable.
