The Washington State Department of Commerce is seeking proposals for a pilot-scale project to remediate DDT-contaminated soil on cannabis production sites in Okanogan County. The work includes site assessment, permitting, selection and implementation of a remediation alternative, coordination with landowners, and final reporting, with a contract period running from November 2026 through June 2027. Eligible proposers must be a 501(c)(3) nonprofit or local government licensed in Washington, and the solicitation is an RFP for a contract rather than a grant program.

Sediment removal from ponds and wetland areas. Sediment removal shall be properly transported and disposed of in accordance with ADEM regulations. Installation of Erosion Control measures that include riprap, wattles, silt fence, sandbags, E-C blankets, etc. in designed areas. Construction of diversion berms and ditches. Seeding, overseeding, fertilizing and liming of areas. Selected grading of soil piles, rills, microrills and gullies. Contaminated Soil has been identified in certain areas of the project site.
