The North Carolina Department of Public Safety, Division of Emergency Management (NCEM) is soliciting bids to replace private bridges and roadway approaches at four damaged sites in Haywood, Yancey, and Buncombe Counties following Hurricane Helene. NCEM will contract directly with the awarded vendor to restore safe access for residents and emergency services, with work to begin within 15 days of notice to proceed and a contract completion date of January 14, 2027. The procurement is funded/authorized under federal and state disaster assistance authorities (FEMA/Stafford Act) but is being administered by NCEM as a solicitation for construction services.
