NASA Glenn Research Center has issued a presolicitation notice for SPARC, a planned multiple-award indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity procurement for space nuclear systems. The contemplated work includes design, development, fabrication, assembly, testing, certification, delivery, and sustaining maintenance and operations of systems, subsystems, hardware, materials, and software. NASA intends to issue the final RFP around November 20, 2026, and concurrently compete an initial Lunar Reactor-1 Phase 1 task order covering preliminary design, electrically heated integrated-system testing, and component radiation testing.
