Pajaro River Reaches 2 and 3 Levee and Floodwall Design

Levee enlargement along the NOV-11 levee reach. The New Orleans to Venice NOV-11 levee reach is approx. 5.2 miles long. This project on the West Bank MRL will involve raising the levee to the authorized design grade with earthen fill. The current levee crown elevation ranges from 10 feet to 15 feet, NAVD88 (2009.55). The proposed plan will raise the entire reach to the 2-Percent (50-year) Level of Risk Reduction (LORR) crown elevation ranging from 17.21 feet to 17.71 feet, NAVD88 (2009.55). Stabilization measures required include the installation of earthen landside stability berms or ground improvement measures consisting of deep material mixing. Additional construction activities required may include the placement of riprap on the west bank of the River, demolition & replacement of local asphalt roadways, demolition & replacement of concrete slope paving, & installation of grouted riprap. The work performed may include new work, reconstruction, rehabilitation, and repairs. Specialty trade contractors are included in this industry if they are engaged in activities primarily related to heavy and civil engineering construction projects (excluding highway, street, bridge, distribution line, oil and gas structure, and utilities building and structure construction). Construction projects involving water resources (e.g., dredging and land drainage), development of marine facilities, and projects involving open space improvement (e.g., parks and trails) are included in this industry.

The California Department of Pesticide Regulation (CDPR) issued Invitation for Bid No. 25-C0062 titled "Electrical Trench, Pajaro Middle School" to draw electricity from an existing panel and install approximately 60 feet of electrical cable and conduit to an Air Monitoring Network fenced area at Pajaro Middle School in Watsonville, CA. Work includes trenching ~60–65 feet, installing conduit and a commercial grade 2-plug GFCI outlet mounted on a 4x4 post, and restoring the site; bidders must hold a C-10 Electrical Contractor license, be registered with the Department of Industrial Relations, and comply with prevailing wages. A mandatory pre-bid site inspection is scheduled for Dec 19, 2025 (attendance required), questions are due Dec 26, 2025, and bids are due Jan 19, 2026; period of performance is estimated Feb 3, 2026 to Jun 30, 2026.

Work includes invasive species management, reforestation, grassland restoration, revegetation with native plant species, and related restoration activities as outlined in the little menomonee river parkway sections 2, 3, and 6 habitat restoration.

The California Department of Pesticide Regulation (CDPR) issued IFB No. 25-C0061 for purchase and installation of approximately 264 square feet of 8-foot-high galvanized chain link fencing (including a standard gate and cemented support posts) at Pajaro Middle School in Watsonville, CA. A mandatory pre-bid site inspection is scheduled for Friday, December 19, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. PST and questions must be submitted to the CDPR contact by December 26, 2025. Bids are due January 19, 2026; the contract period is expected to begin February 3, 2026 and end June 30, 2026.
