Antenna Control System *SOLE SOURCE*

Description: To procure one (1) Model 990 Antenna Control System (ACS) with associated equipment and installation, in accordance with the attached salient characteristics. Antenna Control System must be technically compatible with and capable of controlling a AN/FSC-78 system: a full motion, large aperture 18m antenna terminal capable of tracking up to 10 degrees/sec in azimuth and elevation up to 85 degrees. Antenna Control System must be capable of controlling a total of four brushless DC motors: 2, 40 HP in azimuth and 2, 10.6 HP in elevation. All four brushless DC motors must be permanent magnet type with torque source to control the antenna to zero RPM. All four DC motors must provide DC tachometer, virtual tachometer, and incremental encoder motor rate feedback. Antenna Control System must use Kollmorgen motor controllers, variable speed. Position encoder must be two, Heidenhain Position Encoders with 25 Bit Resolution and +/-20 Arc-Second accuracy per revolution. See attached file.
