Nashawannuck Brook Ecological Restoration & Access Improvements

A. Access development and management of pedestrian traffic within the site; b. Clearing and demolition; c. Erosion, sedimentation and pollution control, and flow management; d. Earthwork including excavating, stockpiling, sorting, grading 1) dead-ending of road and removal of road fill and existing culvert; 2) restoring historic wetlands modified when the site was used as a golf course and enhancing the health and functionality of existing wetlands; 3) removing other structures and stream armoring remaining from the parcel’s use as a golf course, including sorting and stockpiling of armoring material for reuse elsewhere in the work; 4) riffle construction; e. Habitat enhancement activities 1) vernal pool creation 2) turtle nesting habitat creation 3) large-wood addition via chop-and-drop methods 4) seeding and planting f. Construction of pedestrian boardwalk connection at old road; and, g. Construction of new formal parking area and emergency turnaround along old road.
