This timber stand improvement project (tree thinning). The project consists of selective tree removal by mechanical means to reduce tree density to restore the area to a more open woodland condition and improve the stand. During thinning operations, average tree spacing should be reduced with the goal of a residual density of 15'X15' to 20'X20'.
