Vehicle Remote Sensing (Request for Proposal)
Qualified vendors to provide vehicle remote sensing services. Remote Sensing Device (RSD) systems utilize infrared or laser‑based technology, high‑speed imaging, radar, and environmental sensors to measure hydrocarbon (HC), carbon monoxide (CO), carbon dioxide (CO₂), and other pollutant levels in a vehicle’s exhaust while the vehicle is in motion. Data collected is used by the DMV as both a regulatory enforcement tool under NRS 482.461 and a research tool under Nevada’s Motor Vehicle Inspection and Maintenance Program (I/M).
