Description: Soliciting applications for grants to support the creation of Countywide Resilience Implementation Strategy Plans. The strategies and projects included in these plans will advance the goals and actions identified in established local plans. Approved, locally supported community plans are strategic or planning documents that have been formally adopted or endorsed by a local government, public agency, or multi-stakeholder planning body. These plans must reflect local priorities and include actionable items developed through community engagement or public input. These plans may focus on water quality, natural resources, or sustainable land use and include, but are not limited to, Coastal Lakeshore Economy and Resiliency Regional (CLEAR) Plans, Comprehensive Plans, Harbor Management Plans, Hazard Mitigation Plans, Local Waterfront Revitalization Plans (LWRPs), Natural Resource Management Plans, Resilient NY flood mitigation studies, and Watershed Management Plans.

The Department is structured around six Divisions that deliver programs and services to Vermonters; one of those Divisions is the Family Services Division (“FSD”). FSD administers a range of programs that engage families, foster and kinship caregivers, partner agencies, and the broader community to promote the safety, lawful behavior, and well-being of children and youth. As part of its work, FSD oversees the Kinship Navigator program, which began over fifteen years ago as state and county initiatives to support formal (involved with the child welfare system) and informal (not involved with the child welfare system) kinship caregivers - grandparents, siblings, aunts, uncles, other extended family members, and close family friends—who provide care for children when their parents cannot. The program helps caregivers navigate the various systems that affect them, including child welfare, aging services, education, housing, and health care.

Soliciting applications through the New York State Consolidated Funding Application (CFA) from eligible applicants proposing projects in the Reserve. Projects will target the implementation of the CMP’s recommendations or advance a Reserve Council priority. Applications may include projects to improve water quality, mitigate barriers to species migration in Reserve tributaries, support marine debris removal programs, increase public access, and restore natural resources and fortify shorelines to increase resiliency of the Reserve.
