The South Outfall Ditch Clearing Plans consist of the clearing of vegetation, debris, trees, etc. from the existing 100’ wide Drainage Easement for the City of Jacksonville Beach South Outfall ditch. This ditch runs easterly from The Greens Way roadway bridge on the west past the Marsh Landing Blvd. roadway about midway and continues to just west of the existing pond outfall structure for the Marsh Landing Shopping Center. Care is to be taken around the existing retaining wall systems along the existing ditch bank. This clearing does not require removal of tree stumps as part of the tree removal. The City of Jacksonville Beach (colloquially known as “Jax Beach”), incorporated in 1907, is a vibrant coastal municipality located on Florida’s Atlantic shoreline in Duval County. With an estimated population of approximately 23,600 residents, the City encompasses about 7.3 square miles of land along the Atlantic Ocean and is part of the larger First Coast region adjacent to the Jacksonville metropolitan area. Jax Beach is known for its strong community character, active beachfront lifestyle, and year-round recreational opportunities. The City’s geography includes miles of publicly accessible beaches and shoreline that support both tourism and local quality of life. Jax Beach features numerous parks, green spaces, and coastal access points, contributing to a rich set of outdoor amenities for residents and visitors alike. Major roadways such as U.S. Route 90 (Beach Boulevard) and State Road A1A provide key connectivity to surrounding communities. Jacksonville Beach maintains an extensive network of local streets and infrastructure that support its residential, commercial, and tourism sectors. Respondents should also recognize that, despite its relatively compact size, the City operates a broad portfolio of municipal services and facilities typical of a full-service local government, including parks and recreation, public safety, utilities, and public works. This combination of coastal character, municipal complexity, and community engagement shapes the City’s strategic priorities and service delivery expectations for any proposed project scope.
