Summary
Construction of Phase 2 of 4 (Necropsy Building) of Necropsy/Colony House Complex. The new Necropsy building will have a single pitch, standing seam metal roof as opposed to the detail in the original drawing. The roof will be equipped with ventilation for the space above the FRP ceilings. Gutters will be installed around the roof/soffit interface for the entire perimeter of the building. All downspouts will be routed to a spot downgradient
from the building and parking area before release point. The new Necropsy building will have new dimensions of 100’ x 20’ as opposed to original
drawing dimensions and will be constructed with readily available, commercial grade, metal pole materials for the roof and structure. The new Necropsy building will be fully insulated to an acceptable Energy Star standard with a minimum R13 bat insulation in the walls and R30 bat insulation in the ceiling. Blown in insulation is not acceptable. The new Necropsy building will have lightening protection and a 200-amp panel.
5. The new Necropsy building will have a metal siding and standing seam metal roof color to match Panel-Loc Alamo to comply with University of Arkansas building requirements. Color and manufacturer will be submitted for approval prior to purchasing materials. The new Necropsy building will have insulated interior walls and ceiling covered in white FRP panels. The new Necropsy building will have a wireless fire and smoke detection system
compatible with the existing system. The new Necropsy building will have floor drains installed in every room except for the necropsy room which will have full length of room minus one (1) foot on either end lengthwise, heavy-duty metal grilled, trench drain installed. The new Necropsy building will have a 10’ long by 40’ wide concrete pad installed outside the 8’x10’ rollup door to be installed on the pine shavings storage room. The new Necropsy building will have a 20’ wide packed gravel parking lot installed between
the colony houses and the Necropsy building along the length of the Necropsy building. Four foot wide, 6” thick, 4000 psi compressive strength, gravel bedded, sidewalks shall be installed that extend from the existing colony house concrete sidewalks west to the necropsy building and along the building envelope to all doors on the Necropsy building and to the 10’x40’ pad outside the pine shavings storage room. The new Necropsy building will have a water cooler/bottle filler machine installed by the
shower/bathroom. The new Necropsy building will have duplex 120V outlets installed every 10 feet on walls in addition to three (3) 240V outlets installed in the necropsy room at locations to be specified by Laboratory personnel. The new Necropsy building will have 5000K minimum to 6200K waterproof LED lighting fixtures installed in all rooms. Diffusers shall be of an approved frosted type with white reflectors in the fixtures. The new Necropsy building will have a single pass HVAC unit, Energy Star compliant with 500 ACH rating, installed in the necropsy room controlled by its own thermostat. The shower/bathroom will be included in the single pass conditioning of the space. In addition, there will be a 24,000 BTU, Energy Star Compliant, split unit HVAC system installed in the necropsy room controlled by a different thermostat. The new Necropsy building will have a 24,000 BTU, Energy Star compliant split unit HVAC system installed in the equipment room. No HVAC is required for the Pine Shavings room. The new Necropsy building will have external wall packs with motion sensors and daylight sensors installed at all doors. The wall packs will be 5000K minimum to 6200K color rendition, 100-watt equivalent LED weatherproof fixtures. One 500-watt equivalent LED, wide area adjustable, weatherproof, floodlight shall be installed over the 8’x10’ roll up door in the pine shaving room with one control switch located inside the room adjacent to
the door. The new Necropsy building will have a water spigot installed in the pine shavings room, the necropsy room and on each exterior wall at locations selected by Laboratory personnel. The new Necropsy building will have, at a minimum, a fully enclosed white tiled in shower stall with adjustable shower head and high-water flow shower head, tile floors, FRP walls and ceilings, a full size toilet not less than 19 inches in height, an industrial single bowel sink in a cabinet with drawers, and the faucet will have separate hot and cold water handles, and an external vent fan along with a 5 watt equivalent LED security light above the vanity mirror. The new Necropsy building will have all utilities connected to existing infrastructure. All rooms shall have ceiling mounted motion sensors for interior lighting fixtures covering all doors and the middle of the rooms.
