This Request for Proposals (the “RFP”) is an invitation by the Province Prince Edward Island (“the “Province”) to prospective proponents to submit proposals for the provision of Nursery services as further described in the RFP Particulars (Appendix D) (the “Deliverables”).
The PEI Department of Agriculture is committed to supporting PEI farms in adapting to climate change and increasing provision of environmental benefits from farmland. Planting trees on farms can protect farmland and infrastructure from adverse weather while improving profitability and enhancing biodiversity.
This Request for Proposals (the “RFP”) invites nurseries to submit proposals for the supply, coordination, and establishment of a selection of trees and shrubs to support the Province’s afforestation of field purchased through the Index Field Buy-Back Program and pilot agroforestry initiatives. The successful Proponent(s) will enter into a service agreement with the Province to provide nursery-grown native planting stock over a multi year period to support large scale afforestation, shelterbelt establishment, and diversified agroforestry systems on active and former agricultural lands across Prince Edward Island.
